Classic Arts News BAM Gala to Feature Matthew Bourne's Play Without Words The Brooklyn Academy of Music's spring gala on March 15 will feature the American premiere of choreographer Matthew Bourne's music-theater piece Play Without Words, BAM announced.
The evening-length work, set to a new jazz score by Terry Davies, is based on the 1963 film The Servant and is set in London during the 1960s. It runs at BAM's Harvey Theater from March 16 through April 3. Bourne's previous works include an all-male version of Swan Lake, which was an unlikely hit on Broadway in 1999.

The gala evening also includes a cocktail reception and a post-performance dinner party. Tickets start at $300 per couple.
