Valerie Harper — who tackles the role of Hollywood actress Tallulah Bankhead in Looped — is the latest actor to portray a real person this Broadway season.

Abigail Breslin and Alison Pill bring the story of Helen Keller and her teacher Annie Sullivan to life onstage anew in William Gibson's The Miracle Worker. Blocks away, Sahr Ngaujah and Kevin Mambo alternate as real-life music legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti in the musical Fela!

Earlier this season, Carrie Fisher played herself as she divulged her family life, career and more in Wishful Drinking. The since-closed musical revival of Ragtime also depicted a number of non-fiction characters including Harry Houdini, Emma Goldman, Booker T. Washington and J.P. Morgan.

Historical figures to bask in the Broadway spotlight this year don't end there. The likes of Kenneth Lay, Claudia Roe, CEO Jeffrey Skilling and CFO Andy Fastow will be seen in the play with music Enron, based on the true events surrounding the company's financial scandal. (Norbert Leo Butz will play Skilling opposite Marin Mazzie as Roe, Stephen Kunken as Fastow and Gregory Itzin as Lay.)

Also now on stage are music legends Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins (played respectively by Eddie Clendening, Lance Guest, Levi Kreis and Rob Lyons) in the new musical Million Dollar Quartet.
