News Barbara Bain, René Rivera to Appear in Free Staged Reading of The Gift of Peace in Pasadena A staged reading of The Gift of Peace, a Stacey Martino play dealing with issues of non-violent political activism, will take place at KPCC (Southern California Public Radio's) Crawford Family Forum on Dec. 10 in Pasadena, CA.

The 8 PM event will be presented in observance of Human Rights Day, and is free and open to the public. Emmy Award winner Barbara Bain ("Mission: Impossible") and René Rivera (Salome on Broadway) will lead a cast featuring Heather Carmen, Julia Schuler Decker, Jimmy DeStefano, Elisa Evans, Sumi Sevilla Haru, Barbara Mealy, Jason Powell, Tony Sanders, Elayn J. Taylor, Caryn Ward and Cheryl Ward. Valentino Ferreira will direct.

The play will be followed by a panel discussion on non-violent conflict resolution moderated by KPCC reporter Brian Watt and featuring Adrianne Ferree, Emily Linnemeier, Terry Mason and Tasha Oldham. A trailer for "Change Is Gonna Come," an upcoming documentary film about the journey of The Gift of Peace across the country directed by Tasha Oldham, will also be shown.
