Directed and choreographed by Dan Mojica (Beauty and the Beast), the cast includes Barbara Minkus (Funny Girl), John Shull, Lana Hartwell, Harold McPherson, Kiersten Kanaster and Paul Morgavo.

The musical, which will continue in a limited engagement through Aug. 26, features new songs orchestrated by Justin Gray.

Wrinkles, according to press notes, "is a funny, touching and heartwarming look at the challenges and joys of the Golden Years. Three senior couples share one extraordinary day of life-altering surprises while dealing with issues that all seniors, and seniors-to-be, can identify with. It's a must-see show for anyone who's lucky enough to have wrinkles — or hopes to!"

Playwright Evans added, "Turning 63 two years ago provided plenty of inspiration to create a show about the challenges of aging. I originally wrote it as a simple revue but it quickly evolved into a much more interesting story about three senior couples who spend one dramatic — and very funny — day together in a senior retirement complex."

Wrinkles was presented in an abbreviated form last year in Vista, CA. This production marks the show's first fully-realized, professionally staged presentation.

Evans is also the author of Luann - Scenes In A Teen's Life, a musical based on his popular comic strip of the same name. The musical has been performed by schools and community groups throughout southern California.

The Welk Resorts Theatre is located at 8860 Lawrence Welk Drive in Escondido, CA. For more information and tickets, call (888) 802-7469 or visit WelkTheaterSanDiego.com.
