The 2002 Barclays Theatre Management Association (TMA) Awards were announced at the Linbury Studio, Covent Garden, on Oct. 13.
The awards celebrate the best in regional theatre, and among the winners were the Watermill Theatre's production of Fiddler on the Roof (Best Musical) and Edward Hall's Rose Rage (a version of Shakespeare's Henry VI plays), while Gregory Burke's Gagarin Way won Best New Play.
Corin Redgrave, whose autumnal career is proving strikingly successful, won Best Actor for his role as a crusty classics master in Sir Terence Rattigan's tear-jerker, The Browning Version. Diana Quick won Best Actress for her role in Ibsen's Ghosts.
Among other winners: Emma Rice received the Best Director award for The Red Shoes, which was recently seen at the Lyric Hammersmith.
