News Bartlett Sher Will Direct Kelli O'Hara in Workshop of New Musical Bridges of Madison County Three-time Tony nominee Kelli O'Hara, who will return to Broadway later this season in the new musical Nice Work If You Can Get It, will take part in a developmental workshop of the new musical The Bridges of Madison County, based on the novel and film of the same name, according to the New York Times.

The workshop will be directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, who also directed O'Hara in the Tony-winning revival of South Pacific as well as the original Adam Guettel musical Light in the Piazza. O'Hara will play the role of Francesca Johnson, the part played on screen by Oscar winner Meryl Streep.

The musical features a score by Parade Tony winner Jason Robert Brown and a book by Pulitzer Prize winner Marsha Norman ('night, Mother).

Producers Jeffrey Richards, Stacey Mindich and Jerry Frankel are behind the upcoming workshop, which will be held in Manhattan.

No other casting has been announced.

Clint Eastwood co-starred with Streep in the 1995 film based on Robert James Waller's novel.
