LOS ANGELES -- Beverly Hills audiences have one more chance July 8 to catch Evil Legacy, a one-woman show by Kathrine [sic] Bates about the life of Lucretia Borgia. The show had moved from the Globe Playhouse to Theatre 40, where Bates is a member.

Co-written by Bates (no relation to actress Kathy Bates) and by director Ted Lange (yes, the "Love Boat" barkeep), Evil Legacy opened at Theatre 40 June 8 and ends its run July 8.

The daughter of Pope Alexander VI, Borgia has come down through the ages as the personification of evil. Bates & Lange's play tries to show that she may have been a pawn in a game played by people even more wealthy and powerful than she was.

Tickets are $12; students & members of the 4As are half-price on a standby basis.

Theatre 40 is at 241 Moreno Drive in Beverly Hills. Call (213) 876 8980. -- By Willard Manus
