The first production of the season will be Lift, with music and lyrics by Craig Adams and a libretto by Ian Watson. Performances will run Nov. 13-25.

Directed by Beautiful Soup artistic director Steven Carl McCasland, Lift will feature Kimberly Faye Greenberg (One Night With Fanny Brice, Danny and Sylvia: The Danny Kaye Musical). The cast also includes Erin Elizabeth Eichhorn, Randall Glen Taylor, Dana Feinberg and Samantha Mercado-Tudda. Original West End Lift cast member Julie Atherton (Avenue Q, Mamma Mia!) will lend her voice to an unseen role. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

"Lift is about people and connections. The connections we have without knowing about them, the connections we lose sight of and the connections we don’t mean to have," press notes state. "Eight people get in a lift at Covent Garden tube station on an ordinary morning and what follows is an exploration into their thoughts. Through seeing everything they think and revealing their innermost secrets, we realize that in some way they are all connected and if they reached out to one another they might change their lives forever."

Beautiful Soup will continue the season with Liliom, Ferenc Molnar's play that inspired the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel. Opening in February 2014, and directed by McCasland, this revival will be the first New York production of Liliom in 73 years.

"When carousel barker Liliom meets the beautiful Julie, an unexpected romance begins for both," press notes state. "It is a romance that theatre lovers have spent decades talking about." The third production of the season is a revival of a well-known musical that failed in its previous American incarnation despite a successful run in London's West End. The title will be announced at a later date.

The season will also feature staged readings of two legendary flops and a workshop of McCasland's new play, Fun House, an exploration of the Pickfair Estate.

In continuing its mission to make theatre that benefits the community, Beautiful Soup will continue to donate a portion of its proceeds to a different charity for each production. Previous beneficiaries include The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, The Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network and more.

Beautiful Soup is known for reviving famously flopped plays. Previous productions have included A Doll's Life, Moose Murders and Rags.
