News Beautiful Soup Will Offer Concert Celebrating Charles Strouse, Including Cut Song from Rags The Beautiful Soup Theater, which will present the short-lived musical Rags beginning May 29, will celebrate the songbook of that musical's composer, Charles Strouse, March 23 at 7:30 PM.

Audiences can expect to hear tunes from Bye, Bye Birdie, Annie, Dance A Little Closer, Mayor, Annie Warbucks and a cut song from Rags. The evening will also feature a detailed look at the 50-plus-year career of Strouse.

Artistic director Steven Carl McCasland and Jordon Cunningham, who will be featured at the piano, will be joined by Bethe Austin, Avital Asuleen, Marc Castle, Salvatore Casto, Barnaby Edwards, Erin Elizabeth Eichhorn, Janet Fanale, Kathryn Francisco, Christopher Leidenfrost, Anna Kirkland, Samantha Mercado-Tudda, Cara Picone, Kim Rogers, Ellyn Stein and Amanda Szymczak.

Tickets for the one-night-only concert are $20 ($15 for students with valid I.D.), and are available at the door (cash only) beginning one hour prior to curtain. Reservations are recommended as seating is limited. To reserve tickets, e-mail [email protected] with your name and number of tickets.
