News Beauty and the Beast Visits Las Vegas Feb. 1-5 An independently produced staging of Disney's Beauty and the Beast directed by Sam Scalamoni begins the Las Vegas leg of its two-city winter run Feb 1. It just trucked in from Baltimore.

The family-friendly musical ran Jan. 24-28 at the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore and plays Feb. 1-5 at the Aladdin Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Baci Management, Inc., which brought the show to Montreal in 2005, again produces the musical by Linda Woolverton, Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice.

The company includes Sarah Darling as Belle, Graham Rowat (San Francisco's White Christmas, Broadway's Dracula) as The Beast, Edward Watts as Gaston, Jamison Stern (Broadway's By Jeeves) as Lumiere, Tom Aulino (Broadway's On the Town) as Cogsworth, Anne Kanengeiser (Little Women) as Mrs. Potts, Debra Cardona as Mme. Bouche, Dana Saltzman as Babette, Matt Simpkins as Le Fou, Mike O'Carroll (Broadway's Ragtime, Show Boat) as Maurice and Donald Birely as M. D'Arque.

The creative team includes choreographer Tracy Generalovich, musical director Bob Bray, lighting designer Daniel Ordower and set designer Felix Cochren. For Las Vegas information, click here.
