News Beautyfull, Musical Look at Popularity Among Young Girls, to Play NYMF Beautyfull, a new musical with book by Jill Jaysen and music and lyrics by Mark Shepard, will be performed Oct. 3 at 1 and 4:30 PM at the Duke Theatre, as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

Jaysen, who will direct, conceived the musical with women's health expert and radio host Dr. Jennifer Wilder. Westport's Center Stage Theatre Company, founded by Jaysen, is co-presenting the show, which will also be seen Oct. 2 at 1 and 5 PM at The Seabury Center in Westport, CT.

According to the producers, "The story features ten year-old Iris and her desperate desire to fit in with the popular 'beautiful' girls. Her drive to be part of the 'in crowd' is so strong that she is willing to do whatever it takes to be included. Iris learns that compromising yourself comes at a cost, popularity isn't all it's cracked up to be, and the true meaning of the word 'Beautyfull' is more accurately reflected from the inside rather than observed on the surface."

The Seabury Center is located at 45 Church Lane in Westport. The Duke Theatre is located at 229 West 42nd Street. For more information and tickets, call (212) 352-3101 or visit nymf.org.
