Bebe Neuwirth, Sydney Lucas and Nikki M. James Among Line-Up for Broadway Salutes | Playbill

News Bebe Neuwirth, Sydney Lucas and Nikki M. James Among Line-Up for Broadway Salutes Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth is set to host the seventh annual Broadway Salutes Sept. 29. The annual public event will feature guests Nikki M. James (Les Misérables), Sydney Lucas (Fun Home) and Jake Lucas (The King and I), who will each perform a Broadway song.

Taking place in the theatre district's Anita's Way, Broadway Salutes will honor theatre professionals who have worked for 25, 35 and over 50 years on Broadway. The celebration pays tribute to actors, agents, ushers, publicists, stagehands, dressers, orchestrators, stage managers and the many other essential roles played in the running of a Broadway show.

The event, hosted by Broadway vet Neuwirth and helmed by Beautiful director Marc Bruni, will begin at 3:30 PM with red carpet arrivals. The public ceremony kicks off at 4 PM; it is presented by The Broadway League and The Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG).

"Broadway Salutes is a time to acknowledge the people who work behind the scenes and onstage, recognizing the incredible talent these dedicated artists, craftspeople, technicians and other professionals bring to the industry," said John Seid, from COBUG, in a press statement.

"It is their hard work that provides countless hours of entertainment to both tourists and New Yorkers, and acts as a significant source of revenue to the New York City economy," he added. "We are proud to honor those who make our Broadway community extraordinary."

Anita's Way is located next to the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, west 42nd to West 43rd Streets. For more information visit BroadwaySalutes.
