With its last performances January 8, Broadway's Beetlejuice becomes one of the Main Stem's dearly departed. The musical announced the end of its run last September and currently has a North American tour traveling the country.

Tony nominee Alex Brightman reprises the role of the titular poltergeist opposite newcomer Elizabeth Teeter (The Crucible, The Audience) as Lydia Deetz. Brightman was recently sidelined from the production in its final weeks due to a concussion sustained while performing, but has returned for the show's final three evening performances. Understudy Andrew Kober plays the poltergeist at the January 8 matinee performance.

Based on Tim Burton’s cult favorite film, the show debuted on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre March 28, 2019 where it opened April 25, 2019. It earned eight Tony nominations, and returned to the Broadway stage after the COVID-19 shutdown. This time it re-opened April 8, 2022 at the Marquis Theatre. Beetlejuice tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a demon with a thing for stripes. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter unleashes a (nether)world of pandemonium.
