News Ben Richards to Succeed Jason Donovan in West End's Priscilla Television and stage star Ben Richards will take over from Jason Donovan in the West End production of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, currently playing at the Palace Theatre, where he will begin performances June 1.

He joins the current principals Don Gallagher as Bernadette, Oliver Thornton as Adam and John Bowe as Bob. Best known for his TV roles as PC Nathaniel Roberts in the long-running TV drama "The Bill" and Bruno Milligan in ITV's "Footballer’s Wives," he has also played Justin Fuller in "Holby City." On stage, he has played Sky Masterson in Michael Grandage's production of Guys and Dolls on tour and in the West End, Danny Zuko in Grease at the Victoria Palace Theatre and on tour, Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever at the London Palladium and on tour, and Jerry Lukowski in The Full Monty at the Prince of Wales Theatre. Priscilla, Queen of the Desert has also now extended booking through May 28, 2011, and has announced a new summer schedule: from June 6 through Sept. 5, the production will play Tuesdays through Saturdays nightly at 7:30 PM, with matinees on Thursdays and Saturdays at 2:30 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.
