Held at Columbia University, the "Great Read" is a day-long celebration featuring New York City-inspired children's books selected by children's librarians from the three public libraries in New York City. "The Great Read," which is free and open to the public, runs from 10 AM-5 PM.
In addition to Benanti (Gypsy) and Murphy (Wonderful Town), the Broadway show folk who are scheduled to read include Legally Blonde's Bailey Hanks, Kendra Kassebaum (Wicked), as well as Derek Keeling and Ashley Spencer from Grease.
Also on the bill are "Ugly Betty" star Mark Indelicato, "Today Show" co-anchor Hoda Kotb, "Gossip Girl" cast member Matthew Settle, as well as a performance from singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb and "Johnny and the Sprites" creator and star John Tartaglia (Avenue Q).
