Steven Berkoff's Messiah - Scenes From A Crucifixion will be performing at The Riverside Studios from Oct. 3, for a limited run of two weeks. 2000 years after the birth of Christ, the inimitable Steven Berkoff directs his award-winning play, Messiah - Scenes From A Crucifixion, a radical and controversial retelling of Christ's life and death.
Raw physical performance combines with lyrical verse in the piece, which explores the idea of Christ as a revolutionary, planning and executing a daring plot to fulfil messianic prophecies and encourage the overthrow of the occupying Roman forces.
Berkoff has consistently won international awards for such unique productions such as East, Salome, Decadence and Kvetch.
Messiah - Scenes From A Crucifixion won an Edinburgh Festival Fringe award last year, when it played at The Assembly Rooms.
