News Bernadette Peters Cast in Good Wife Spinoff The Tony winner adds to her TV credits.

Two-time Tony Award-winning actor Bernadette Peters has been cast in a recurring role alongside Paul Guilfoyle (CSI) in a new streaming TV series that will be spun off from the long-running hit The Good Wife, according to Deadline.com.

The yet-untitled series will debut in February 2017 on CBS before moving exclusively to CBS All Access. Stage veterans Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo will star in the new show, which takes place a year after the events of The Good Wife.

The Good Wife, which ran 2009 to 2016 on CBS, told the story of a woman trying to support her family as a lawyer after her husband is jailed for his participation in a sex and corruption scandal. The new series will be set in the same world of lawyers and danger.

Peters appeared in the Broadway casts including Sunday in the Park With George, Into the Woods, Mack & Mabel, Song and Dance, and revivals of Follies, Annie Get Your Gun, A Little Night Music, and Gypsy. She has appeared in many TV series including Smash, Ugly Betty, and the recent Emmy-winning Mozart in the Jungle.

The new series’ executive producer Brooke Kennedy will direct the opening episode.
