News Bernadette Peters, Plus 39 Steps and Jersey Boys Casts to Appear on New York Telethon The first annual NBC New York Nonstop Giving Telethon — featuring Bernadette Peters, currently starring in A Little Night Music, the casts of The 39 Steps and Jersey Boys and representatives of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS —will air throughout the day Dec. 2.

In pre-filmed segments, Peters, who is playing Desiree Armfeldt in the revival of the Stephen Sondheim musical, speaks about her longtime support of BC/EFA and its upcoming annual Gypsy of the Year fundraising competition, which will be held Dec. 6 and 7 at the New Amsterdam Theatre. 39 Steps cast members discuss their partnership with the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade, for which the Off-Broadway comic mystery will donate $5 for every ticket sold through Jan. 2, 2011, to support the foundation's breast cancer research and advocacy efforts.

Footage of Jersey Boys' fifth anniversary curtain call Nov. 7, where it was announced that $1 from every ticket sold during October would benefit the Save the Music Foundation, will also be included in the telethon. The Tony Award-winning Four Seasons musical raised $43,521 to help restore the instrumental music education program at PS 85 in the Bronx.

The telethon will air Dec. 2 at 7 AM, 10:30 AM, 5 PM and 10:30 PM on NBC New York Nonstop (Channel 161 on Time Warner Cable). For more information and listings for other cable systems, visit nbcnewyork.com.
