Still cute as a kewpie doll and still with the voice that made her famous, Broadway diva Bernadette Peters pulls into San Francisco for a special week of concerts at the Orpheum Theatre Nov. 20-25. A two-time Tony Award winner for Andrew Lloyd Webber's Song and Dance and Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun, Peters has created some of the best known women's roles in musical theatre in the last twenty years including Dot in Sunday in the Park With George, the Witch in Into the Woods and Mabel in Mack and Mabel. Other credits include Dames at Sea, On the Town, The Goodbye Girl, "The Jerk," "Pennies From Heaven" and "Annie."

Her show, crafted specially for San Francisco, will feature four as yet unnamed area performers who will sing and dance with Peters. Peters will sing numbers from her greatest stage triumphs, including Sunday in the Park With George, Into the Woods, Song and Dance, Mack and Mabel and Annie Get Your Gun. She will also give a special preview of her upcoming Rodgers and Hammerstein disc, set for release on the Angel label in spring 2002.

Tickets will be first opened to Best of Broadway subscribers, then to the general public later in October. For information, call (415) 551-2050. The Orpheum Theatre is located at 1192 Market Street.
