The titles are, in alphabetical order:

Molly Sweeney by Brian Friel
Mrs. Klein by Nicholas Wright
New England by Richard Nelson
Rent by Jonathan Larson
Seven Guitars by August Wilson

The "Best Plays" yearbooks have been published annually since 1899. The current editors are Otis L Guernsey Jr., a theatre critic and author; and Jeffrey Sweet an award-winning playwright (The Value of Names, With and Without) and author. This year's choices include works by some of the foremost names working in theater today. Productions of the various shows were seen on Broadway, off-Broadway, on tour and at regional theatres.
