PlayBlog Bette Midler Talks Priscilla at Annual Hulaween Ball (Video) Veteran singer and actress Bette Midler hosted her 15th Annual Hulaween Ball Oct. 29 and took some time on the red carpet to chat with Broadway Speaks OUT interviewer Marti Gould Cummings about co-producing the upcoming Broadway musical Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, which is currently trying out in Toronto.

Midler also discussed the New York Restoration Project, her non-profit organization that aims to help greenify New York City. The Hulaween Ball benefits the project.

Tony and Grammy Award winner Midler made her Broadway debut as Tzeitel in the original Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof. She returned to the Great White Way in several concerts: Bette Midler, Bette Midler's Clams on the Half Shell Revue and Bette! Divine Madness. She was awarded a Special Tony Award in 1974 for "adding luster to the Broadway season." Midler's screen credits are extensive and include Oscar nominations for her performances in "For the Boys" and "The Rose." She also earned a Golden Globe Award and Emmy nomination for playing the role of Rose in the 1993 television version of Gypsy.
