News Betty Buckley Lands Lead Role in M. Night Shyamalan's Next Thriller Tony Award-winning actress Betty Buckley has signed on for a lead role in the next thriller from "The Sixth Sense" and "The Visit" filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, according to Variety.

Details on the plot were not revealed. Buckley previously appeared in Shyamalan's 2008 film "The Happening." Also set to star are Anya Taylor Joy, Jessica Sula, Haley Lu Richardson and James McAvoy.

Variety reports that Shyamalan will write, direct and produce along with Jason Blum.

Betty Buckley offered acclaimed performances in Broadway's Sunset Boulevard, Carrie, Song & Dance, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, 1776, Triumph of Love and Promises, Promises. She won a Tony Award for her performance as Grizabella in the Broadway production of Cats, and she starred on the London stage in Promises, Promises, Dear World and Sunset Boulevard, earning an Olivier Award nomination for her work in the latter. Her screen credits, which include Stephen King's "Carrie," are numerous.
