News "Billy Elliot Through the Lens" Hits Stores Dec. 20 A new, behind-the-scenes, glossy photograph book charting the making of Billy Elliot — The Musical is set to hit stores in the U.K. Dec. 20.

Titled "Billy Elliot Through the Lens," the 160-page tome features the photography of David Scheinmann. Scheinmann began photographing the hit musical during the rehearsal process and continued snapping shots through the production's opening night.

Scheinmann has photographed for The Royal Opera House, The Royal Ballet, The Royal Shakespeare Company and Working Title Films. "Billy Elliot Through the Lens" marks the first published collection of his photography.

A huge box-office hit, Billy Elliot — based on the movie of the same name — has been seen by more than 250,000 people since opening in March 2005. It is currently booking through Oct. 21, 2006.

The show is written by Lee Hall with music by Elton John. Stephen Daldry who, alongside Hall, was behind the award-winning film version, directs. The cast features Haydn Gwynne (Mrs. Wilkinson), Philip Whitchurch (Dad), Chris Lennon (Tony), Ann Emery (Grandma), Paul Broughton (George), Alex Delamere (Mr. Braithwaite), Stephanie Putson (Mum), Isaac James (Older Billy) and Leon Cooke, Liam Mower and Travis Yates, who alternate in the title role.
