Billy Porter, who has been seen on Broadway in Grease!, Miss Saigon, Five Guys Named Moe and Smokey Joe's Cafe, will perform his one-man show, The Standard, April 26 at 9:30 PM and April 27 at 10 PM. The evenings, "an exploration of the contemporary American standard," feature Porter's renditions of tunes made famous by such artists as Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Donnie Hathaway, Oleta Adams, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, Elton John and The Beatles.
Two-time Tony nominee Kevin Chamberlin will offer Kevin Chamberlin and Friends Present: Broadway Sings TV May 3 at 9:30 PM. The evening, which will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will spotlight Chamberlain and other theatre performers singing TV theme songs from the 60s through the 90s.
Later that May 3 evening, Wesley Taylor, who is currently on Broadway in The Addams Family, will be part of Wes Taylor and friends at 11:30 PM. The evening of pop tunes, original tunes and show tunes will also boast Matt Doyle (Spring Awakening, Bye Bye Birdie), Mitch Jarvis (Rock of Ages, Fiddler on the Roof), Lauren Molina (Sweeney Todd, Rock of Ages) and Krysta Rodriguez (The Addams Family, In the Heights). Mary-Mitchell Campbell will be featured on piano with Damien Bassman on drums and Christian Imboden on guitar.
