News Billy Porter Will Sing The Standard March 27-28 in California The Upright Cabaret in West Hollywood, CA, will present two evenings with Broadway musical theatre actor Billy Porter later this month.

Porter will perform his one-man show, The Standard, March 27 and 28 at 9 PM. The evening, "an exploration of the contemporary American standard," will feature Porter's renditions of tunes made famous by such artists as Stevie Wonder, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor and India Arie. Billy Porter has been seen on Broadway in Grease!, Miss Saigon, Five Guys Named Moe, Smokey Joe's Cafe and the Dreamgirls Actors' Fund benefit. Among his Off-Broadway credits are Birdie Blue, Merchant of Venice and King Lear. Regionally, Porter has appeared in Angels in America and Going Native, and his screen credits include "Broken Hearts Club," "Shake Rattle & Roll" and "The Intern."
