News Black Angels Over Tuskegee to Play Off-Broadway's St. Luke's Theatre Casting has been announced for the Off-Broadway production of Black Angels Over Tuskegee, which will begin previews at St. Luke's Theatre Jan. 29.

Written and directed by Layon Gray, the production will officially open Feb. 15.

The cast will feature Lamman Rucker (Tyler Perry’s "Why Did I Get Married?" and "Meet the Browns"), Demetrius Gross, Thom Scott II, Antonio Charity, Layon Gray, David Wendell Boykins, Derek Shaun, Jay Jones and Rich Skidmore.

In Black Angels Over Tuskegee, which is based on true events, "six men explore their collective struggle with Jim Crow, their intelligence, patriotism, dreams of an inclusive fair society, and brotherhood as they become the first African American fighter pilots in the U.S. Army Air Forces," according to press notes.

Black Angels Over Tuskegee is being produced Off-Broadway by The Black Gents, Edmund Gaynes and The Layon Gray Experience.

Performances will be Monday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 PM, and Sundays at 5 PM. Tickets, priced $31.50 and $56.50, are available through Telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200. St. Luke’s Theatre is located in Manhattan at 308 West 46th Street.
