News Blair Brown, Ron Eldard Take Part in Man of the House Reading Tony Award winner Blair Brown will take part in the May 20 in-house reading of Man of the House.

A new play by Ian McCrudden, Man of the House concerns three sons who return home for their parents’ 40th wedding anniversary. Others in the company of the reading include Ron (Death of a Salesman) Eldard, Frank (Our Town) Converse and Matthew (Cobb) Mabe. Michael Jaeger will direct. Playwright McCrudden has written the plays Of Wey and Magic and Man of the House as well as the film “Trailer — The Movie, which he also directed. A graduate of Stanford University, McCrudden also directed the feature films “The Big Day” and “Mr. Smith Get a Hustler.”

Blair Brown received a 2000 Tony Award for her work in Copenhagen, and she can currently be seen in Manhattan Theatre Club’s Humble Boy. Her other theatre credits include James Joyce’s The Dead, Arcadia and Cabaret as well as the Kennedy Center production of A Little Night Music. Perhaps best known for her work on TV’s “The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd,” Brown’s other screen credits include “Dogville,” “Space Cowboys,” “Law & Order: CI” and “Smallville.”

The Man of the House reading will occur at the Ars Nova Theatre, 511 West 54th Street. Admission is by invitation only.
