Five-time Tony Award nominee LaChiusa (Hello Again, Marie Christine, The Wild Party), best known for his stage musicals, authored the new dark comedy that will premiere April 7-May 20, 2012, on the 2nd Stage Theatre. Kristen Sanderson will direct.

According to the Blank, "The 'true' story of two young nurses who have everything to live for: great boyfriends, jobs that actually help people, and as much weed as they can smoke, until... their Raggedy Ann doll becomes possessed and destroys their lives. This creepy yet hysterically funny story will have you laughing in the aisles and checking under your bed for demons with hair made of red yarn."

The Blank will also present the West Coast premiere of Stephen Belber's Dusk Rings A Bell, running Oct. 1-Nov. 13 at the 2nd Stage. Daniel Henning will direct Belber's newly revised edition of the play about two high school sweethearts who reunite 25 years later and recount the paths that led them there.

Michael Matthews will direct David Sedaris' The Santaland Diaries, about the acclaimed author's time spent as an Elf at Macy's during the holiday season, which will run Nov. 19-Dec. 18 at the Stella Adler Theatre.

The West Coast premiere of The Cost of the Erection, by The Temperamentals playwright Jon Marans will run Feb. 4-March 18, 2012, at the 2nd Stage. According to the Blank, "Wealthy Susu Ziegler has purchased an exclusive Manhattan raw space apartment overlooking the Hudson. She hopes to have her architect husband design this tricky space, but with their marriage on the rocks, she forces him to compete against a younger, hotshot architect. This sexy, funny tale is told in a heightened theatrical style, compressing and playing with time and space, and ultimately examines what makes a marriage work. Or not work." Closing the season will be the Blank's 20th annual Young Playwrights Festival, which will feature over 12 world premieres by teen playwrights from May 31-June 24, 2012, at the Stella Adler Theatre.
