The 8 PM performance will be hosted by conductor Michael Tilson Thomas, whose grandparents — Boris and Bessie Thomashefsky — were founders and pioneers of New York's Yiddish Theatre. The evening of music, readings and remembrances will salute the chapter in American culture in which the Thomashefskys were leading players. Judy Blazer will play Bessie Thomashefsky with Shuler Hensley as Boris Thomashefsky, Ronit Widmann-Levy as Young Bessie and Eugene Brancoveanu as Young Boris. Also taking part in the one-night-only event are Tony Award winner Judy Kaye and the Oscar-nominated actress Debra Winger as well as the San Francisco Symphony.

Patricia Birch directs The Thomashefskys; the creative team also features Kirk Bookman (lighting design), Jeff Sugg and Jim Findlay (video design) and Acme Sound Partners (sound design).
