The Blue Light Theatre Company, currently housed at the Second Stage (McGill-Cazale) theatre on the Upper West Side, will be seeking a new home next May, according to Blue Light general manager Jeremy Kraus.
Kraus told Playbill On-Line he was not sure about where his company would land. "We don't have any idea right now, we're not sure," Kraus said. "We haven't even begun to look." According to Second Stage's artistic director Carole Rothman, who spoke to Variety, her company will be doing shows both at Second Stage's new 43 St. theatre and at the McGill-Cazale next season.
Kraus confirmed that Blue Light planned to continue operations, hopefully without a break. "We are at the old Second Stage until May and then we need to find a new theatre," Krause said.
Blue Light does have a history of fundraising and plans to campaign vigorously in order to secure a new home. "We do fundraising." Kraus said, "but not at our theatre. We use venues with more seating, usually places with 500 seats or more."
