Mark Schlegel, the New York talent agent who was last seen leaving his home in Oradell, New Jersey, 11 days ago, was found dead by local authorities August 24.

The 57-year-old agent, whose client roster includes Tony Award nominee Daniel Sunjata, Miss Saigon’s Katie Rose Clark, and other theatre talents, was reported missing on August 13.

Numerous members of the theatre community took to social media in the days that followed in an effort to help locate Schlegel.

Bergen County officials confirmed that Schlegel’s body had been located around 3:30 PM on Thursday in a wooded area less than half a mile from his home. No foul play is suspected, and authorities said the body appeared to have been there for some time. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Schlegel reportedly left his house at 3:30 PM on Sunday, August 13 without his keys, wallet, or phone. Schlegel and his wife, Christine, had just returned from a trip to Scotland August 12 in celebration of their 33rd wedding anniversary, which was August 18. The couple has two children, ages 23 and 27.
