The Bollywood musical, set in India's enormously popular film industry, has just announced an extension of its run.

Bombay Dreams, which is playing at the Apollo Victoria, has now taken £10 million at the box office, an amazing achievement for a new musical — even if it is produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Beginning Dec. 16, tickets will be available for the period April 1 to Oct. 26, 2003.

Four songs from the show were recently sung as part of this year's Royal Variety Performance, which will be broadcast at 8 PM on BBC1 on Dec. 15.

Bombay Dreams features songs by A R Rahman, lyrics by veteran songwriter Don Black, book by Meera Syal, and is based on an original idea by Shekhar Kapur and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
