News Book of Mormon Star Will Write and Star in New Film Comedy Andrew Rannells, the Tony-nominated star of The Book of Mormon who recently completed a stint in the title role of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, will co-write and co-star in a yet-untitled movie comedy, according to Deadline Hollywood.

The magazine reported that Rannells will partner with his significant other, "Jersey Boys" actor Mike Doyle, to write the screenplay, with Judd Apatow ("Knocked Up," "The 40-Year Old Virgin") as producer. The subject matter was not listed.

Rannells has moved easily between Broadway, TV ("Girls," "The Advocate") and movies ("The Intern" and the forthcoming "Max Steel"). He got his Broadway debut in 2005 as a replacement for the role of Link Larkin.
