Newly formed production company, Borough Boys Inc., will stage the world premiere of its inaugural show, the concert-play Rockstar at the Trilogy Theatre in March. Previews for the show begin March 1. Rockstar opens March 6 and runs through March 24. Largely autobiographical, Rockstar is based on the experiences of singer-songwriter Joe Shane and identical twins Robert and Steven Morris, veterans of the local music scene in New York City. Rockstar developed after these three musicians befriended and began collaborating with Elaine's restaurant maitre d', Michael Racenelli—who is also a playwright.

In this production, composer and co-writer Joe Shane takes center stage. He is joined by Robert Morris, Steven Morris and Trilogy Theatre owner/director and actor Norman Siopis, who does triple duty as producer, director and actor. The cast also includes actors Tony B., Shannon Conley and Kelly Moore.

In Rockstar, which deals with what Shane describes as the "gray area between our dreams and the reality of money," the lead character stands out from a close knit group of musicians and tries to make the best of what he believes to be a unique opportunity. "I thought I was 'on my way' when I got a production deal," Shane explained in production notes, "but like many, my work never saw the light of day."

Rockstar features 13 original songs and is presented with video images. The music features smooth transitions between such styles as rock, swing and folk.
