Oscar nominee Lucas Hedges, who will make his Broadway debut this fall in Kenneth Lonergan's The Waverly Gallery, stars in the new film Boy Erased, which will now have a limited release beginning November 2 instead of the previously slated September 28.

Joel Edgerton directs, writes, produces, and co-stars in the coming-out drama about a young man’s journey to self-acceptance. The cast also includes two-time Tony winner Cherry Jones (who is also Broadway-bound, in The Lifespan of a Fact), Oscar winners Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe, Troye Sivan, Xavier Dolan, Michael “Flea” Balzary, Joe Alwyn, Emily Hinkler, Jesse LaTourette, David Joseph Craig, Théodore Pellerin, Madelyn Cline, and Britton Sear.

Manchester By the Sea star Hedges plays Jared, the son of a Baptist pastor in a small town who is outed to his parents. Jared is faced with an ultimatum: attend a conversion therapy program or be exiled by his family, friends, and faith.

Edgerton produces alongside Anonymous Content’s Kerry Kohansky-Roberts and Steve Golin.

Focus Features will also have a limited release of On the Basis of Sex, co-starring Felicity Jones and Armie Hummer (currently on Broadway in Straight White Men), beginning December 25. The true story follows young lawyer Ruth Bader Ginsburg as she teams with husband Marty to bring a groundbreaking case before the U.S. Court of Appeals and overturn a century of gender discrimination.

Jones plays the Supreme Court Justice with Hammer as Marty Ginsburg; they are joined by Justin Theroux, Oscar winner Kathy Bates, Sam Waterston, Jack Reynor, and Cailee Spaeny. Mimi Leder directs with Robert Cort producing a screenplay written by Daniel Stiepleman.
