News Bradley Cooper Developing "Hyperion" with Screenplay by Itamar Moses Bradley Cooper, a Tony nominee for his performance in the recent revival of The Elephant Man, has joined forces with Graham King and Todd Phillips on the development of Dan Simmons' "Hyperion" novel as a project for the Syfy cable network, according to Deadline.com.

The screenplay of the Hugo Award-winning novel will be penned by Itamar Moses, who will also serve as a co-executive producer of the event series. "Set on the eve of Armageddon with the entire galaxy at war, 'Hyperion,'" according to the online industry source, "is the story of seven pilgrims who set forth on a voyage to seek the answers to the unsolved riddles of their lives. Each carries a desperate hope and a terrible secret — while one may hold the fate of humanity in his hands."

In a statement Oscar nominee Cooper said, "It is an absolute honor to enter into the world created by Dan Simmons that is arguably one of the greatest works of science fiction, and help realize it for television audiences."

A timetable for the production has yet to be announced.
