News Bradley Cooper Signs On to Star and Produce "American Blood" for Warner Bros Stage and screen actor Bradley Cooper, who is slated to return to Broadway in The Elephant Man, is attached to star and produce "American Blood" for Warner Bros., according to Deadline.com.

Warner Bros. closed a preemptive deal on the project, a 50-page proposal for a crime story by New Zealand-based bestselling author Ben Sanders for Macmillan Entertainment. The book, which will be published in fall 2015 by MacMillan, will be adapted for the screen by Andrew Sodroski.

Cooper and Adam Kassan will join John Lesher to produce alongside Pouya Shahbazian. Brendan Deneen will executive produce.

"American Blood" is the first in a planned series of novels about Marshall Grade, an undercover NYPD officer turned mob informant.

Cooper has been seen on Broadway in Three Days Rain.
