News Brady and Mack to Appear in Gallery Players' The Crucible Casting has been announced for the Gallery Players production of Arthur Miller's 1953 McCarthy-era drama The Crucible, which will begin performances March 20 in Brooklyn.

Gallery Players artistic director Heather Siobhan Curran directs the production that will run through April 4. Graham Mills produces.

The cast features John Blaylock, Gil Brady, Daniel Damiano, Lisa Darden, Genevieve Gearhart, Emily Hagburg, Justin Herfel, Frederic Heringes, John Isgro, Tom Lawson, Jr., Lindsay Mack, Russell Mahrt, Rhyn McLemore, Sofia Munn, Alison Ostergaard, Bob Pritchard, Elisa Pupko, Joe Regan and Gina Stahlnecker.

The Crucible will have set design by Lilia Trenkova, costume design by Megan Q. Dudley, lighting design by David Roy and sound design by Neal J. Freeman.

"Based on historical people and real events," press notes state, "Miller's classic play about the witch-hunts and trials in 17th century Salem, Massachusetts, is a searing portrait of a community engulfed by hysteria. The story focuses on John Proctor, a farmer, and Abigail Williams, the young servant-girl who maliciously accuses Proctor's wife Elizabeth of witchcraft. Proctor brings Abigail to court to admit the lie—and it is here that a monstrous course of bigotry and deceit is terrifyingly depicted. Proctor, instead of saving his wife, finds himself also accused of witchcraft and ultimately condemned with a host of others."
