Brady, according to a production statement, began experiencing vocal strain within the past week and was advised by his doctor to withdraw from the Los Angeles engagement. Gregory Harrison, who has performed the role of Billy Flynn on Broadway and in the show's national tour, will replace Brady.

The Los Angeles run of Chicago — at the Pantages Theatre — runs through Feb. 20. The cast also features recording artist Patti LaBelle as Matron "Mama" Morton, Bianca Marroquin as Roxie Hart and Brenda Braxton as Velma Kelly.

Gregory Harrison made his Broadway debut in another Kander and Ebb musical, 1997’s short-lived Steel Pier. His other Broadway appearance — in the Matthew Warchus-directed Follies — cast the actor as Benjamin Stone opposite the Phyllis Stone of Blythe Danner. Harrison’s regional theatre credits include roles in The Fantasticks, The Promise, The Subject Was Roses, Festival, Child’s Play, Picnic, Billy Budd, Carnal Knowledge and The Hasty Heart (L.A. Drama Critics Best Actor Award).

Tickets, priced $25-$127.50, are available by calling (213) 365-3500 or by visiting www.BroadwayLA.org.
