News Bravo Goes Inside Cirque du Soleil With Cable Series "Fire Within" Jan. 6 Eight different performers join the circus - or in this case, the Cirque - and find out what pleasures and pains await them in show business as a part of a new Bravo TV series, "Cirque du Soleil Fire Within," airing Mondays beginning Jan. 6.

"Fire Within" chronicles the creation of Cirque du Soleil's most recent show, Varekai, currently on tour in the United States. While the known personalities of the Cirque like founder Guy Laliberte make appearances throughout the thirteen part series, the half-hour shows will concentrate on a cast of eight disparate performers. They include lovelorn Brazilian trapeze artist Raquel, veteran Russian circus performer turned dancer Oleg, ambitious twin brothers Kevin and Andrew who see the Cirque as a mere stepping stone in their career and "the world's greatest contortionist" Olga, who suffers from the stress and fatigue the starry billing places on her life. "Cirque du Soleil Fire Within" is produced by Galafilm and Creations Musca in association with Bravo USA, the Global Television Network and ARTV with the participation of Canadian Television Fund. The Cirque often commits their works to some kind of television program - Alegria, Dralion and Quidam all have 90 minute versions that were broadcast and are now available on DVD.

"Cirque du Soleil Fire Within" airs at 9 PM in the Eastern and Pacific time zones. Check local listings for channels and times.
