One of the Stratford Festival's most highly anticipated shows opened Sept. 10: Brian Bedford directs and stars in Equus. Peter Shaffer's Tony-winning drama runs to Nov. 9 at the Avon Theatre in Stratford, ON, and co-stars Nicolas Van Burek.
Bedford was nominated for a Tony Award in 1995 when his Stratford production, The Moliere Comedies, transferred to Broadway. Previous credits include 25 different roles at Stratford and Two Shakespearean Actors, The Moliere Comedies and Timon Of Athens on Broadway.
Other cast members in Equus, about a psychiatrist helping a young man who's blinded six horses, include Patricia Collins, Claire Jullien, Dixie Seatle, Brian Tree and Nicolas Van Burek.
