News Brian d'Arcy James and Tom McGowan to Star in Things Being What They Are The East Coast premiere of Things Being What They Are will be presented at the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor, NY.

Wendy MacLeod's play will begin performances May 22 and run through June 3. Directed by Leonard Foglia, the cast will feature Broadway's Brian d'Arcy James and Tom McGowan.

Things Being What They Are, according to press notes, is set "in a suburban condo complex with neighbors Bill and Jack both reaching crossroads in their lives and marriages. This wistful new comedy explores the passions and human failings that bring people together and drive them apart."

Brian d'Arcy James was seen on Broadway earlier this season in the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of The Apple Tree. The singing actor made his Broadway debut in Blood Brothers, and his other Main Stem credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Carousel, Titanic and Sweet Smell of Success, earning a Tony nomination for his performance in the latter. James' Off-Broadway credits include The Good Thief (Obie Award), The Wild Party, Ancestral Voices, Velvet Vise, Public Enemy and Floyd Collins.

Tom McGowan received Tony and Drama Desk nominations for his performance in La Bete, and he has also been seen on Broadway in Chicago and Ivanov. He won an Obie Award for his work in The Food Chain, and his other Off-Broadway credits include The Food Chain, A Few Stout Individuals, The Winter's Tale and Coriolanus.

The 2007 Target Mainstage Season at the Bay Street will also feature The Night Season (June 12-July 1), Turandot: The Rumble for the Ring (July 10-Aug. 5) and The Lady in Question (Aug. 14-Sept. 2).
