News Brian Stokes Mitchell and Linda Lavin Join Students for Holiday Tunes Dec. 18 Two current Broadway stars — Brian Stokes Mitchell and Linda Lavin — will take part in a holiday event sponsored by the American Theatre Wing on Dec. 18.

Mitchell, who heads the cast of Man of La Mancha, and Linda Lavin, who plays Carol Burnett's grandmother in Hollywood Arms, will join 50 students from LaGuardia High School, Talent Unlimited and the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts (Brooklyn) on Dec. 18 for a half-hour of Christmas carols and other holiday songs. The event will take place at 46th Street and Broadway (in the island in front of the Father Duffy statue) from 1 to 1:30 PM.

Since 1917 The American Theatre Wing has been dedicated to supporting and servicing the community through theatre. The Wing recently distributed $140,000 to numerous non-profit theatre companies as part of the 45th Annual Grants and Scholarships Awards. The Wing's next event will be the Annual Honors Luncheon at the Pierre Hotel on Monday, April 14.
