News Bring It On and La Cage aux Folles to Play Theatre Under the Stars Houston's Theatre Under the Stars will host the national tours of Bring It On The Musical and the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of La Cage aux Folles.

Frank Loesser's Guys and Dolls, with a book by Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling, will receive a fresh staging Sept. 27-Oct. 9. TUTS will also bring back the stage adaptation of Irving Berlin's White Christmas, which will run Dec. 6-18.

TUTS is among the first to announce the upcoming national tour of Bring It On, which will run Jan. 24-Feb. 5, 2012. The new musical about the world of competitive cheerleading played a world-premiere engagement in Atlanta this winter and will launch its tour this fall in Los Angeles.

Bring It On features a hybrid score by Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (In The Heights), Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning composer Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) with lyrics by Amanda Green (High Fidelity). Tony Award-winning Avenue Q book writer Jeff Whitty penned the original libretto. Tony Award-winning In the Heights choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler directs and choreographs.

TUTS’ Humphreys School of Musical Theatre will be showcased in a regional staging of the Tony Award-winning musical Annie, running March 20-April 1, 2012. The audience favorite has a score by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin and a book by Thomas Meehan.

The Tony Award-winning Menier Chocolate Factory revival of La Cage aux Folles will arrive April 24, 2012, for a run through May 6, 2012. The musical about a gay couple who run a popular drag club on the French Riviera has a Tony-winning score by Jerry Herman and a book by Harvey Fierstein. The final offering on the season bill will be The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, which will run June 14-26, 2012. Featuring a score by Carol Hall and a book by Larry L. King and Peter Masterson, the comedy centers on Miss Mona and her Chicken Ranch.
