News British Touring Shakespeare Appears at Westminster Theatre

British Touring Shakespeare, under the artistic directorship of Miles Lattimer-Gregory, is to perform Hamlet and Twelfth Night at the Westminster Theatre in January.

Founded by Lattimer-Gregory in 1999, British Touring Shakespeare (BTS) has already been described as "a new Shakespearean force to be reckoned with" by Theatre Review. Their Hamlet has been pared down to two hours and is described by the director as having been given a twenty first century makeover using Elizabethan stage practice juxtaposed with contemporary multimedia and staging techniques.

In the summer of 2000, BTS performed Much Ado About Nothing and A Midsummer Night's Dream to audiences in historic homes across Britain. This summer BTS toured across the UK and Europe, performing As You Like It, Love's Labour's Lost and Twelfth Night.

Twelfth Night opens on Jan. 14, 2002, and Hamlet on Jan. 15. The two plays will be performed on alternate nights for a short season ending on Feb. 2.
