Directed by Robert Bartley, creator of the annual Broadway Backwards benefit, the cast features Brittany Danielle (Kira), Sean McGee (Sonny), Bradley Campbell (Danny), Liz Mikel (Melpomene) and Stacia Goad‐Malone (Calliope).
The ensemble comprises Jessi Little, Mallory Michaellan, Thomas Renner and Darius‐Anthony Robinson.
Based on the Universal Pictures film (screenplay by Richard Danus and Marc Rubel), Xanadu features a book by Douglas Carter Beane and music and lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar.
"It’s 1980 on Venice Beach," according to previous press notes. "A beautiful Greek muse comes to earth to help a young handsome, muscle-bound, sweet-tempered but not so bright artist, Sonny Malone realize his dream to open a roller disco." This parody of the Olivia Newton-John flop cult movie includes "Suddenly," "Strange Magic," "Evil Woman," "Don't Walk Away" and "I'm Alive."
The creative team also includes musical director Mark Mullino, choreographer Jacob Brent, set designer Bob Lavallee and production stage manager Luisa Torres.
