Crumm played Danny Zuko in the 2007 Broadway revival of Grease after winning the role in the reality television competition "Grease! You're the One That I Want." He will start performances in The Fantasticks July 8.
The cast of The Fantasticks also includes Michael Sharonas the Narrator (El Gallo), Samantha Bruce as The Girl (Luisa), Dan Sharkey as The Boy’s Father (Hucklebee), Kevin R. Free as The Girl's Father (Bellomy), MacIntyre Dixon as The Old Actor (Henry), Michael Nostrand as The Man Who Dies (Mortimer) and Pierce Cravens as The Mute. The production also features Scott Willis, Rita Markova and Tom Flagg.
The Fantasticks is the world's longest-running musical, having played a record-breaking run of more than 17,000 performances in Greenwich Village. Harvey Schmidt wrote the music, and Tom Jones penned the book and lyrics.
Book writer and lyricist Jones staged the revival of The Fantasticks, which has choreography by Janet Watson. Robert Felstein is the musical director/pianist and Maria Banks is the harpist.
The Fantasticks originally opened at the Sullivan Street Playhouse in May 1960 and closed Jan. 13, 2002. The original company included Wedding Singer star Rita Gardner and the late Jerry Orbach.
The Fantasticks resumed performances Off-Broadway at the Snapple Theater Center's Jerry Orbach Theater June 16, 2008. The Fantasticks is produced by Al Parinello and Catherine Russell.
