News Broadway Bares All for BC/EFA June 18 The 16th annual Broadway Bares fundraiser — benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS — will be presented June 18 at 9:30 PM and at midnight at the Roseland Ballroom.

Executive produced by 2005 Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell and directed by The Full Monty's Denis Jones, this year's event — titled Broadway Bares 16: New York Strip — will, according to production notes, celebrate "everything that is New York: the sexy neighborhood coffee shop waitress serving it up hot, the steamy firemen saving the day, and the local pizza delivery boy bringing a pie to your apartment."

The annual fundraiser is set to include appearances by Sandra Bernhard, Mario Cantone, Alan Cumming, Fran Drescher, Barrett Foa, Sara Gettelfinger, Cyndi Lauper, Andrew Rannells, Rita Wilson, Josh Strickland and the four Jersey Boys: Dominic Nolfi, Daniel Reichard, J. Robert Spencer and John Lloyd Young. (Bernhard and Wilson will only appear at the 9:30 PM show.)

A little Bares history: Over a decade ago, Tony winner Mitchell, who once danced nearly naked on a drum in The Will Rogers Follies, found himself inspired to take it all off to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and Broadway Bares was born. The first year, he and seven other Will Rogers dancers raised $8,000 for the charitable organization. Last season's competition — executive produced by Mitchell — raked in a record-breaking $654,000.

Tickets for the 9:30 PM show are priced $600 (VIP seating plus open bar), $225 (VIP standing plus open bar), $95 (priority viewing) and $50 (general admission). The midnight show has the same price structure, although the $95 ticket is not an option for the later show. Tickets are available by calling (212) 840-0770, ext. 268 or by visiting www.broadwaycares.org.

The Roseland Ballroom is located in New York City at 239 West 52nd Street. *

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is the nation’s largest industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization. Since its founding in 1988 the organization has distributed over $100 million for services for people with AIDS, HIV or HIV-related illnesses.
