News Broadway Barks and Broadway Flea Market Set Dates Dates for two upcoming Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS fund-raisers were announced in the Playbill for the annual Easter Bonnet Competition.

Broadway Barks 12 — the annual adopt-a-thon created by pals Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore to find homes for pets from city animal shelters — will be held July 10 from 3:30-6:30 PM in Shubert Alley. Proceeds from the auction and other donations received during the day will benefit the shelters and organizations attending Broadway Barks 12. The 24th Annual Broadway Flea Market and Grand Auction is set for Sunday, Sept. 26. The day-long event is scheduled to begin at 10 AM ET and continue to 7 PM along West 44th Street. The outdoor fundraiser in Shubert Alley raises money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and features a host of theatrical memorabilia donated by the theatrical community. The day-long event also boasts a Celebrity Table, where theatre fans can purchase autographs by or photos with their favorite stars from Broadway, Off-Broadway and television serials. The well-attended event also includes a Grand Auction, where "singular items and opportunities such as walk-on roles in Broadway shows, television programs and films" are auctioned to the highest bidder.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is the nation's largest industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization. Since its founding in 1988 the organization has distributed over $160 million for services for people with AIDS, HIV or HIV-related illnesses.
