Bullets Over Broadway, the Woody Allen musical which opened April 10 to some very good reviews and some not-very-good reviews, played to 86% capacity houses at the St. James and pulled in 62% of its box-office potential. Those numbers were slightly better than the previous week. How the reviews will ultimately effect the tuner will be revealed in the weeks to come. Also opening at the end of the week was Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, the Billie Holiday play whose main selling point is its star, Audra McDonald. The show performed before auditoriums that were a healthy 97% full, even if box-office take stood at 59%.

The new production of Martin McDonagh's The Cripple of Inishmaan began previews at the Cort this week, and its star, Daniel Radcliffe, appears to have Neil Patrick Harris/Denzel Washington-like drawing power. Two previews played by just under full-capacity houses. Washington's A Raisin in the Sun, meanwhile, continued to sell out at the Barrymore, and Harris' Hedwig and the Angry Inch did even better. However, Raisin beat Hedwig on the average ticket price front: $141.31 to $125.44.

Among other starry outings, Of Mice and Men, with James Franco, commanded 97% capacity houses. That robust number was slightly down from the previous week, owing to the week being dotted with comp-filled press performances.

The numbers at If/Then, the new musical starring Idina Menzel, have been down slightly since the show opened to mixed reviews. Whereas more than 90% of seats at the Rodgers had been filled during previews, this week 89% were full.

Checking in on a few of the hits of last season, Tony winner Kinky Boots enjoyed 95% capacity crowds, Matilda The Musical had 99% capacity and Pippin was down to just 80%.
